Our Fixer Upper: Retail Inspo

It's been way too long since I last posted an update on the Amsden project.  The past month has been nothing but plumbing and HVAC work which is mostly in the ceiling and below the floors, so there's not much to be shown as far as progress!  So while that is happening I have been trying to focus on my vision and narrow down my design ideas for each space.

The retail shop takes up the largest portion of the building.  It will be connected and flow into the coffee shop but also have the ability to be closed off so that they don't have to always be open at the same time.  What you can expect from this space is an expanded version of the Miss Molly Vintage brand, Gather Mercantile, which will feature the best local makers + Kentucky made products mixed with vintage, antique, and reclaimed finds galore.

One of my ideas for this space is to have a fresh flower and plant bar.  A space where you can pull from tons of vintage jars, vases, and planters and create your own custom arrangements in-store.  I'm talking with a few local flower farmers and am hoping that we will have a variety of locally grown fresh blooms as well as a mix of faux stems, plants, succulents, and maybe even some wreaths and garlands too!

If you follow my projects and home decor, you know I am plant and flower crazy, so I felt like this passion just had to be included in my latest venture.  We are planning to have a large open trough-style sink to anchor the space and give it that old-fashioned flower shop feel.  Besides that I'd love to have layers of shelves and mismatched metal buckets and containers to hold all the stems, bouquets, and greenery.  I've gathered up a few of my favorite inspirations for this space below.  Let me know which are you favorite and what you would love to see incorporated into this space!

xoxo
